Grandad Boyd's Navy photo needs date or info

There may be another navy record somewhere on I have ends fed 1920 but its full up he was in the navy royal and merchant all in until 1945 then he left and settled in Scotland with my gran she worked in Birmingham during the war and they met then he was about twenty years older than her and 46 when they married. He then worked the mines.

On joining he elected to do 5+7 on reserve but re-joined in 1920 so should have been discharged in 1927.
His conduct did go from 2nd. to 1st. back to 2nd. & back to 1st. for obvious reasons. He should have received his second stripe in 1923.

Just found out a David Cowan Boyd I didn't know about with a private on HMS Forward and died in 1939 more military history than I knew
