We would appreciate some ideas as to when people think this photo might have been taken. Also whether the top the lady is wearing is significant to a particular country? We are not sure if this is six siblings and their mother or they are cousins. We are trying to work out who they are and working out when photo might have been taken would be helpful to us. Many Thanks for any ideas and info.

There's nothing in any of these outfits that indicate any particular ethnicity as European women dressed pretty much the same.
The eldest boy's 2 1/2" starched collar was a short lived fashion so can be dated to 1908-12.
The women's dress styles confirm that.

Do you know what part of France the family may have come from?  The older lady (as was often the case) is wearing something that looks a lot like many Breton national costumes albeit without a headdress.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Thanks Jim and Max. I forgot to mention that the photo was taken on a glass plate so we were thinking it would have been earlier. Earlier generations went to Ireland from France in the late
1700's but we were wondering if there was anything to indicate this photo might have been taken in France otherwise we would expect it to be Ireland. We do not know exactly where in France the family were from.

I would say Ireland. The young lady at the front is wearing a collar & tie. Although this was a fashion trend it was originally worn by women of the Women's Movement which didn't extend to France.

Hi.  I think that the woman in front wth white blouse and tie and man in the back are the children of older woman as look the same around eyes and mouth.  Other children might be grandchildren.  Not sure if this helps you work out who they are

Thanks.  I can see something of the older woman in all of the others but hard to say if they are all her children or some of them are grandchildren.

Sometimes looking at later photos of family members and then trying to work back the way can help as someone might know the name of an old relative and you can then try to fit in by death record marriage and census
