Rewards for saving Life at sea,a telescope
To Mr Alexander Jolly,master of the Brig Progress,of Sunderland
in acknowlegement of his humanity to the master and crew of the Clontarf of Sunderland
whom he rescued from the wreck of their vessel,on the 13th January last

another article states he landed them at Modena/Manilla even though his own ship was badly damaged

Hi Radcliff. Attached is a photo of a stamp that is on Alexander Jolly's Master Certificate. It indicates the gift of the telescope, but it's great to now know some more details. Thanks again.
