Thomas Gambier
« on: Saturday 04 August 18 05:17 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for any details on the country of origin of Thomas Gambier, an African possibly from the Nigeria area. Anecdotally, I've read that he was a servant in the household of Lord Gambier.

He was born circa 1783 in 'Foreign parts' I am a descendant of his via his marriage to second wife Ann Gambier nee Bolton. He was buried in Brixton Sep 1, 1843.

Thanks

Rob

I can't help with Thomas' origins but would like to say that it appears the Thomas who was buried in Brixton in 1843 was a 9 year old boy. I think the other thread you replied on has a date in 1848 for him?

PB

Edited to add: the info about Thomas' burial is actually found in one of the links posted in the other thread you replied on.
We search for information but it is up to the thread owner to verify that it is correct.
