Hi ,

I am looking for sons 2 x great-grandad George Sargent . According to the 1939 Census he was born on 2/11/1889 and lived on Newcastle Road in Madeley , Shropshire , Eng , UK .
I know from family that they lived in Madeley for a while and then moved to Silverdale in Newcastle , Staffordshire .
The problem is Ican't find him on the 1891 or 1901 Census .....and I dont know why ?

I see he was in Newcastle under Lyme when he married in 1921 and according to 1939 free search  there then (not Madeley as per your post)

I guess this may be his registration below.

George William Sargent
04/1889 Wellington Sal Shropshire

The only one I can find on 1891/ 1901 states he was born Worfield, 7 miles from Madeley, parents John & Fanny, the same George was a gamekeeper in 1911.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

If you look at the top of the document it says Middle Madeley on Newcastle Road classed being in Newcastle-under-Lyme . The present family have strong links with this area also
