Thomas Haigh, High Melton.
« on: Sunday 05 August 18 11:11 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for information regarding Thomas Haigh. He was born at High Melton in 1795 and  believe he lived in the area, died around 1880. I would like to know whether he had any family and where he's buried if possible.

Is this his baptism at High Melton:

Thomas, son of John and Catherine Hague, born 24 June, baptised 13 July 1795

Thank you Bumblebee and Milliepede for your prompt replies. Yes, that will be him, Marr is only a few miles away from High Melton.

The surname spellings were originally interchangeable Haigh and Hague. However, in the later 20th century and currently they have chrystalised into two mutually exclusive version Haigh, being an entirely different family to Hague

Up to the 1980s Marr continued to be a tiny hamlet by modern standards with only around 40 voters registered. However, since the 1990s it has blossomed and the last figure I saw was in excess of 100.
