John Dunbar possible death Michigan
« on: Sunday 05 August 18 20:29 BST (UK) »
Looking for John Dunbar Birth 25 SEP 1797 • Keith, Banffshire, Scotland.

We believe he may have gone to Michigan for work and passed there.  We have seen "hints" on another site but have been unable to view the record

His spouse, Margaret Bain, (1798-1890) was listed as a widow in the 1851 Canada Census.

There are several children that do not appear in Canada census documents after 1861 or so and we wonder if they went to Michigan or possibly western US or Canada for work.  Several other branches have done this but the Dunbar group has proven a challenge

Would you know in which city he may have lived (in Michigan), please?  Where was his family living in Canada in 1851, please?

A bit of added info.

The hints on another site have a death in Michigan related to John Dunbar but one just popped up with the name Margaret Bain.  Again, unable to view these hints.  Searches of other online resources yield no results on either name.

As mentioned, we know Margaret Dunbar nee Bain passed 3 JAN 1890 Wroxeter, Huron County, Ontario, Canada.  Likely at the home of her son in law as he was informant.

Given that we have found no trace of several children of John and Margaret, perhaps the death hints are  for children and the hint relates to the parents names. However, no success with that avenue but perhaps some different search terms will help given most of the boys had names that were often abbreviated (Alexander, George, James and William)

We know daughter Margaret Dunbar 1836-30 NOV 1918 passed in Michigan.  She was married to Sidney Shaw and we know the family lived in/around Bay City Michigan
