Dixons Terrace, Cowpen Northumerland
« on: Monday 06 August 18 10:11 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has old photos or information of the above. My father was born there in 1926 and his mother was a Dixon, the street was owned/built by her relatives and in 1901 census there's a Robert and Ann Dixon living at 153 Cowpen Village which following the enumerator list is very close to the above street. He's listed as a landlord, possibly of either The Kings Arms or The Windmill - anyone who can give information, please feel free!

Terrier1402, Welcome to Roots, and your post has resulted in a brilliant reply by 'shanghaipanda' .  Click on that link and there are several pages re street names in Blyth and Cowpen.  There is also reference to what you are looking for, including old photos of that area.

Dixon's Terrace was on the west side of the King's Arms pub, which is extant. The terrace is long gone, but I do have a better photo that I can share with you here.
