Can some kind soul please tell me how to go about getting Court Marshall information please.

It seems that a rellie went on the run during WW11 and was caught after nicking a bike.

Details of a Courts Marshall should be in his military records, but for WW2 they will still be with the MOD, you would have to apply and pay £30.

With the number of Marshalls in your list of interests it is perhaps understandable for you to have mis-typed Court Martial as Marshall.

From what I know there will be a reference only in his service records and no real details. Have come across 2 people (1 recently) who have obtained service records with a reference to a court martial, both were asking where to find more info., as far as I know neither succeeded. Sorry.

All The Field and General CM registers for WW1 and WW2 are held at the National Archives. They contain all the murderers, rapists, thieves, deserters etc etc. The last time I looked the WW2 ones alone had around 20,000 names in the registers so as you can appreciate it's a needle in a haystack trying to find a individual.

Being a pedant ( ) can I point out that the plural of Court Martial is Courts Martial?

I wrote Courts Martial in my post, unfortunately intuitive typing added an extra L to Martial which I missed. It drives me up the wall when what I type is converted, often into something totally out of context, at least those switches ares easier to spot.
