I don't know whether these versions add anything to the excellent restores that have already been posted. Very occasionally, I see a wonderful portrait on Rootschat that stirs me and this is one of them.

I haven't been all that diligent in restoring the imperfections because my immediate reaction when I saw great aunt Wilma's face was that "her eyes need catchlights!". I fully realise that this is an 'enhancement' and not a 'restoration'. I just felt that great aunt Wilma's face was so fully 'alive' that her eyes deserved to be equally 'alive'.

I have no idea when deliberate 'catchlights' were introduced into photography (probably the 20th century) but I guess it was very many years after this photo was taken.

Two versions: one based on the original photo, the second one in which great aunt Wilma stands out from the background a bit more.

BTW "Wilma" sounds like a Scandavian/German/Dutch name. I live in NL and I know many "Wilmas". Care to share where great aunt Wilma was born?
Photo restorers may re-use and improve on my posted versions. Acknowledgement appreciated.

Here's a couple with the requested changes. One has the color more muted, which looks better on the web, but results may vary when printed on photo paper as to which is better.

Hope you enjoy!
I just like to do photo restores.
