Burial sites

Hi,

My great grandmother and partner died in 1937 in Paddington London.
Is there anywhere I can research that might tell if they were cremated or buried,and if so a
possible cemetery.
Hope you can help as you have done so before.

You could try www.deceasedonline.com to see if they are at Kensal Green, if they aren't there then a final resting place may depend on their last address and financial circumstances.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes I would like to post their names and addresses.
Annie Georgina Turner ( maiden name Taylor)
lived in Clarendon Street,Paddington with her husband Alfred.
But she died in 285 Harrow Road on 11th March 1937.
Alfred died in Paddington Hospital in October of the same year.

I have checked deceased online,but neither appear there.

I think 285 Harrow Road was the address for the hospital in Harrow Road

Try Willesden Lane cemetery, (Paddington Old Cemetery) my own family lived within a short distance from Clarendon Street and are buried in Willesden Lane, it comes under Brent now

You were correct.
They were buried in Paddington Old Cemetery.
But sadly in separate plots,in mass graves without headstones.
I assume because they had no money,but a large family.
They have given me the plot and section numbers,so I might try a visit.

It is easy to find, I was there recently with a cousin, it was quite emotional to be honest, we had to search as the monument was laid backwards onto another one, there is some undergrowth in certain parts,  but it really kept quite nicely, there is also a CCWG section just inside the gate to the right, if you know the grave numbers it is easy to find and there are markers

As my great grandparents were buried in large plots with others( I assume in the same grave).
I don’t believe there is a headstone/monument with their name upon it.
All I have been given is a plot number and section number.
I will have to travel up and search.

Although they are in a common grave without a headstone, the family would still have paid for the funeral.

A private grave is still out of reach for so many families.

Brent currently charge £3190 for a plot, you pay extra for kerbside ones and that doesn't include the actual costs of the funeral.
