Alexander Scott Mystery
« on: Tuesday 07 August 18 21:45 BST (UK) »
wonder if anyone can help me?

my 2nd great grandfather named alexander scott born around 1884 aberdeenshire who married Helen Allan Thomson

as scott is a hard surname to research around my area I haven't persisted with finding new info until today

I saw on ancestry a record for  uk soldiers died in great war 1914-1919

alexander scott
 death dec 16th 1916
france and flanders
enlistment Peterhead
l sergeant
Gordon highlanders
no 3201
killed in action

this would make sense to be him as my 2nd great grandmother helen allan Thomson remarried a man called Sylvester third around 1921 st Nicholas Aberdeen

I cannot find any info on this death apart from ancestry

finding something else would be interesting to narrow down if this is my great great grandfather for example something mentioning his wife etc

can anyone find more on this man or his death

grateful of any help

ryan

Having problems getting info from the site that I'm using but it says he was 33 in 1916, so born circa 1883.

PS - it's a medical record for 13th Nov 1916

I found his birth cert. Those were the parents. He was born Pitsligo, 4 March 1884, which might match with this from the death listing;

Born New Pitsligo, enlisted Peterhead.
