Just another thought if you look for the father's birth registration in www.freebmd.org.uk it will give the mother's maiden name so from that it should be possible to find Evelyn's marriage and her husband's name.

I've just found the post that was made on Wednesday in the Lancashire look up page giving the birth, marriage and death details from the GRO index not actual certificates of Evelyn. According to those she was born, married and died in the Wigan area.

 I wonder what she was doing in Bootle in 1983?

Presumably Rimmer was her married name so what was her maiden name and who did she marry and where?

Do not know her maiden name nor name of her husband. We were hoping that electorate record had her husband with her, Then we could search for marriage record. Perhaps she lived there in previous years with her husband.
This is the only record of where she lived In Bootle we have.

Yes she had an illegitimate son in 1940 Family say she met a man called Rimmer who would not take the son as his own so he was adopted ?? do not know if legally or member of family.

The son was given to a man called Jim and given the surname Fletcher  The son of this man ( Fletcher ) is searching for his biological family. I found records from Wigan but this friend Fletcher knows she lived in Bootle and could never remember family speaking about Wigan.

If the son was officially adopted, then he needs to contact the GRO and apply for access to his adoption records.

The person who is searching for his biological grandmother Evelyn Rimmer, remembers visiting this lady in Bootle 1980/81 with his father. We have discovered that at that period she was living at 7 Galsworthy Walk L30 9SL ( through Street directory ) and voters Index. The whereabouts of his father are unknown. We have been in touch with the GRO and they have given us information regarding adoption records. Thank you for your help.
