That is tricky  :-\  is it a medical term, I wondered at first if it was "losing" or "having" but doesn't seem to be a "g" there.

Could you type the sentence to get it in context?  If he was injured specifically someone might know the consequence of that injury.

Oh could the last bit be that word for losing consciousness - can't think what it is though.

Hemoptysis is the coughing up of blood or blood-stained mucus from the bronchi, larynx, trachea, or lungs. This can occur with lung cancer, infections such as tuberculosis, bronchitis, or pneumonia, and certain cardiovascular conditions.
Thomas, Davies, Jones, Walters, Daniel in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. That should narrow it down a bit!
Vincent: Fressingfield, Suffolk, Stockton & Sunderland.
Murtha/Murtaugh: Dundalk & Sunderland
Ingram: Cairnie by Huntly, Scotland then Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
Bardouleau: London - in memory of my stepmother Annie Rose née Bardouleau who put up with a lot from me.

Thanks, that makes sense. He was said to have suffered from a slight cough and severe bleeding. He put it down to being gassed in 1918 but wasn't hospitalised and apparently there was no evidence to back that up either.
