Richard BARNBY (alias Michael DALTON): Born c1837 ?Leeds

Hopefully someone can help me.

Richard BARNBY (alias Michael DALTON) was born c1837 probably in Leeds, where his father, Edward DALTON, who was a Cooper, lived.   He spent some of his early life imprisoned and appeared to live "freely" after 18/10/1859, that is , he did not re-offend under either name.   Sadly, I can find neither hair nor hide of him after that date.    

It seems he was recognised foremost as Richard BARNBY, although his convict records do mention Michael DALTON regularly.

Any information or suggestions would be more than welcome please.

From GRO mmn is Riley

There's a marriage between a Richard Barnby & Catherine Riley in Stockport, 1862

By 1881 Catherine is a widow (and born Liverpool)

That marriage cert is on Ancestry Richard born 1827, occ. hatter, father Richard an ironmonger.
