For the record - there are no deaths for Josiah / Joseph - or Margaret Markee on freebmd from 1838 - so maybe they did go to Switzerland ??

So do we have two potential scenario's?
A. A British family going to Switzerland for work and having a child there. A quick search of the British overseas BMDs hasn't anything obvious, but a more detailed look might be useful.
B. A Swiss subject coming to UK. As he is shown as British Subject in 1891 have you looked at any naturalisation records?

In any event, for finding any Swiss records would require knowing the exact place of the birth.
