Help to read a name- COMPLETE (THANKS)
« on: Monday 13 August 18 12:42 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am having difficulty reading a name on a marriage entry of 1865 in Dundee and wondered what your views were on it.  It is the names of the parents of the bride.
For the father it says, George Limerick, soldier, deceased. For the mother it says Emma Limerick, MS Mc????? deceased.
I wonder if anyone can decipher this surname for me please.

Thanks
Neil

Thank you, that is not a name I am familiar with so it didn't stand out to me. Looks probably though, thank you.

Yes, I agree with that.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi Monica, thank you for that information.  That thread regarding Jane Limerick is certainly the same one I'm looking at.
The link to George is interesting, I can't cross reference to be sure that it is him.  The link provided on Findmypast, is there but it actually relates to someone else not George Limerick which is frustrating.  Thanks for the links.

Interestingly enough, the only Emma McCandlish I can find was born in March 1841 in Manchester.
