 I am trying to find any information regarding a James Cope who may have been born in the 1840's+ in Westminister  . I do not have anymore regarding him but I do know that he came out to Australia not sure when and married a Hannah Murphy and they had a daughter in 1865.
Hope that someone may be able to help??

This is the most obvious James Cope and family in 1851 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SG6T-KX3  with parents William and Elizabeth.   The family might be worth tracing as I can't see them post 1851 at the moment.   :-\

Possible birth reg for the James found by Kay

I can't see any more birth registrations for children of William & Elizabeth

The parents are still in the UK in 1881 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q273-8BTW   I think their birth place is actually Fleggburgh, Norfolk

The daughter Mary Jane Cope was registered 1866 Mortlake Victoria, mother Hannah Murphy, father James Cope. register number 2865.

Did James Cope die in 1888 Victoria Australia, if so his death certificate would give his parents names

Thanks for that info and I do not know when James Cope died and I will have to try and find out. his Daughter Mary Jane marriedin1885 and her Mother signed the consent form as Hannah Thomson and written beside it was The father Deceased.
So it still remains a mystery but hopefully I will find an answer.
