Liberation of Holland 1945 // PoW Camp 2228
« on: Thursday 16 August 18 17:51 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys,

My father sent a ceramic plate commemorating the Liberation of Holland 1945 from Pow Camp 2228 back to England on 22 Feb 1946.  I now have the plate and the Customs Declaration (which he kept in his Army Pay Book).

That is all I know about it. It was suggested to me to put a picture up and see if anyone can add any more information of any sort.

Regards,  Dave.

On the front of the plate "Nederland Vrij 5 Mei 1945 Na 5 Jaren Onderdrukking"

Netherlands Free 5 May 1945 After 5 Years of Suppression

Factory marking on the rear of the plate?

Yes, you are right about the back markings. I assume 1061 would be the serial number (or possibly Style number).

Thanks Dave
