Thanks all for this work, it's given me some clarity.  I was trying to see if I could locate a maiden name of Gibson as potentially Elizabeth's mother, but that just threw in more grey hairs!!

I cant find anything on line for John Bullman born Bexhill, Sussex.

Yes I looked for the Gibson link also but on Johns side.

Think this may be Elizabeths Parents Marriage;
John JARVIS, age 21 (1776), occp Collier
Sarah YARSLEY, age 21, Single   
residence:   Shifnall, Salop
marriage:   15 October 1797   
marriage license: 1797 Shiffnal, Shropshire

Hopefully someone on the Sussex Board may have Bexhill Parish Records.

In the absence of any marriages in London, the Stockport marriage is looking a good favourite .

There may have been a 'Family' reason for the time in London.

There is a christening of Eleanor Bulman at the same church in Stepney...4 Aug 1831...parents Joseph & Jane. Maybe Joseph is a brother. A possible aid to going back on the Bulmans.
