Hello
have you seen his Will?
It says he was a Millwright of Isleworth and left £200
Children George ,Joseph ,Samuel and daughter Sarah Roach to get equal shares.
It looks like a second marriage to Judith Roach at St Anne Soho 22.1.1804 but no mention of marital status.
He signs his name on his Will and marriage to Ann Meek.
There is a baptism at Christ Church Southwark in Feb 1763 of a William Drawater to ----- and Mary .
The edge of the page is missing with father's name.
At the same parish are Robert born 9th May bapt 15.5.1757 to George and Mary Drawater waterman and Elizabeth 31 Dec 1760/25 Jan 1761.

George was bound to his master John Smith as a waterman and lighterman at Lambeth 19.7.1745 -21 June 1754.
He had married Mary Johnson without banns in front of John Wilkinson 25 Nov 1754 and there was a court case against John Wilkinson at the Old Bailey concerning the affair.
They lived in the Old Barge House at Southwark and paid him a guinea at the Liberty of Savoy.
George was 24 but she was only 19.

There is a possible baptism for George at Bushey 7.6.1730 s of John and Elizabeth Drawater

ps there is a Will for John Drawater 28 Feb  1767 in London mentioning grandson William Samuel Drawater and grandson John who get £10 each at 14 years old.
Others mentioned grandson John Drawater £10,niece Ann Wild d of John at the Ax and Gate King St Westminster £5 age 16
exec William Drawater and John Wild.
William occupies one of the 8 wooden houses owned by John .
Burial 4.3.1767 at Christ Church Southwark possibly

possible children for John and Elizabeth in London
Sarah 23.7.1740 Lambeth,John Noble 12.5.1741 Holborn,Mary 9.3.1743 Holborn,William 22.3.1744 Holborn,Samuel 6.1.1747 Holborn,and William 6.5.1753 Holborn.
They are the only children of a John Drawater in London around 1710-1760.

Hi Rosie 99

Thank you for reply.  The information I have is that he was born:
1760 Isleworth, Middlesex, England. I have a copy of a baptism that names his mother as Mary, But due to it being damaged by fire cannot make out the father.
The information you gave me Re: Williams Burial is correct.

I also have info re: his marriages, his first wife was Anne Meak who he married in 1785.  Anne died in 1803,William then went on and married Judith Roach in 1804.

Regards witchy.

Hi ciderdrinker

Thank you for your information. Most enlightening.
I have seen William's will and have some of the information you have given me. re: Baptism and the court case.
I have also seen the information Re: Robert and wondered if I was on the right path of William being there son also.
I have not seen the Will for John which I find very intriguing as he mentions William.

I have found a mention of John Drawater in the Record index of
The London,England, Freedom of the City Admission Papers
It has admission date 1733,  father John Drawater.

I have also found a reference to William being apprentice to a Lockington Foulger (Occupation Turner) which would seem to tie in, as I have found two references to John Drawater who was a Carpenter.

More research ahead!! ha ha
