Kirby Muxloe Monumental Inscriptions and Sherman's Lodge
« on: Saturday 18 August 18 14:51 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I discovered this morning that my 6th Gt Grandparents, William Spencer and Sarah are buried at Kirby Muxloe and have a Monumental Inscription.

William Spencer 1703 - 21st August 1773 from Sherman's Lodge
Sarah,  his wife... 1710 - 14th Nov 1787

I would be very grateful if anyone could photograph this for me please.

I know Sherman's Lodge was replaced by Frith House and is now in Glenfield Hospital grounds. Does anyone know of any drawings that may have been made of the Lodge prior to Frith House being built?
Thank you very much for any help anyone can give me

Thats fine,

I needed to go there for me.. Just been checking my pics - as I thought I had already been to Kirby Muxloe, but it was Kirkby Mallory.

Anyway.. my OH is back on Monday and we will wander along during the week.

take care

fingers crossed its still legible.    ;)

Thank you iluleah,
I too found that reference, so thanks for that.

I will have to do some more research into those possible avenues.
Thank you very much for your help
It's much appreciated.

OOOH wow - lucky lucky you...

We have been along and found what you where hoping for PLUS a few more.

So await some pics :)

There were also some of my 'lot'  so I too am happy -

It is a beautiful, well kept Graveyard - and most of the stones still legible.

brilliant.

Pics are on OH's camera so wont be as quick as me uploading from my phone.. but he takes a better pic (or he will have to go back and do it again :) :)
