Hi all,

During my search for Rotterdam (The Netherlands) ancestors, I keep coming across English and Scottish nationals mentioned in notary archives.

For now I don't intend to post them regularly, but here's a list of some I've come across. Hope this may supply some people with those horrible missing pieces of a genealogical puzzle.

There's no guarantee that the names are all 100% accurate, as I had to try and extract the original English from the - most likely - phonetic early 17th Century Dutch equivalent.

This is very generous of you to share this information TreeDigger, Thank you.

I'll bookmark this page as I do have ancestors on the British seaboard that might just happen to surface somewhere abroad.

Rena

My pleasure, Rena.

As I said, not sure how often I'll post, but when I do come across more names I'll try to remember to post them here. You could give me a name and I can see whether something pops up.

You never know..
