Oh there's a thought avm.  I guess he could also have been mistaken about her marital status too and she might not have been a widow.

Actually the banns page record for the Lizzy/Eliz Williams has been completely crossed through so maybe I should go back to that book and check to see if there is any other detail recorded anywhere.

I might follow that route and see where it takes me.

Yes I see that they married on 2 October 1866.  I just wonder whether Elizabeth Martha Williams’ father might have been John something else, and the Terrey name might have crept into the record erroneously on 8 July 1866.  It’s a bit out there as a suggestion, granted
