So looking at Henry Foulds in 1851 the transcription says he is an apprentice age 19 and looks like he is renting with the Dixon family.

I wondered though it says "Residence Note: "Principle Street"." The event place is Farnsfield, Notts, England. But my query is do you think there is an ACTUAL street called "Principle Street" or is it a general term that means it is the main or principle street in a village?

I have looked on modern day maps but can't find a street in Farnsfield with this name.

Thanks
MJ
Fouldes.<br />Any area where our family are.  My branch started around Derbyshire, Nott's and Yorkshire.  We ended up in South Lincolnshire!  So yay!  Course any area with Fouldes in would help!  See my family tree below for what gaps I have!  Cheers!

Would also like to see any Beaumont's from Sheffield as I have lots of family photos & can't identify them!!

I have also checked and cannot find out if Principal Street became Main Street. In my village what is now High Street was once Top Street, so names of roads in places did change.
On the old maps page in 1883 it is not named  but in 1891 it is Main Street. Quaker Lane, which is also on the 1851 census is listed before Principal Street and does join it.

Hi all, so I still have a Henry shaped gap for 1871 when he was 39. (He was born in Oxton in 1831)

I believe in 1861 (age 29) he lives with his 84 Year old grandma Elizabeth Birch somewhere in Southwell (freecen showed me that). I think I have him in 1881 (living on his own in Sheffield) and 1891 (in which aged 59 he is married to Elizabeth who is 71!)  in Sheffield but cannot find him in 1871!

Can anyone spot him in this odd Year?

I think he died in 1899 at 68 so that would have him tracked down pretty much!

Thanks all!

MJ
