Heronís Creek, St Mawes 1930ís
« on: Tuesday 21 August 18 14:59 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone

Iím Sophie and I live in Herefordshire.

My question is about my grandma, Kathleen Bick (DOB 07.06.16) who was a personal maid on the 1939 Census at a house in St Mawes called Heronís Creek.

I know Kathleen worked for the Bird Family (as in the custard) and they holidayed in St Mawes so this makes
sense. On the Census, Elsie H Bird lives in the house and it describes her as widow of Geoffrey Bird (presumably deceased).  A Mr Harry and Mrs Violet Holmes live there too as well as the usual servants.

Does anyone know if this house still exists?  If it helps, other houses in the area were Uplands, Lawn Bank, Crossways, Polrath Point, Searigs etc etc.  Tredenham Road features too.

Would love to hear from anyone with any information

Regards
