On the following census extract 1851 can you work out the first name of the wife AND her birthplace?

name - margaret kell
date of birth - 1812
pouse - william kell

Place of birth looks like something?  Ocean?

I think it's definitely Margaret. I played around with it on my other machine and that's the form it takes. 

I don't see them on the 1841 or 1861 so far. Have you checked for births/baptisms of children nor William's service record?

I see that daughter Catherine (b.c. 1836, Ireland on the 1851) probably married William Howarth in Q4 1858 (Manchester 8d 352)  and is on the 1861 as born Dublin - RG09/2961/46/16

It might be worth searching for a baptism for her which might give her mother's name.
