I can't see a birth registration in North Riding in 1901 for a Mary Lawton.  Who were her parents

A little more information might help in the search.  Lawton/Burgess/Strutt - BUT you state September 1901.  Cryptic requests are NOT easy to fulfill.  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

So sorry didn't want to overload  info, however all I have is:-
Mary Lawton ( her mothers maiden name) but was christened Burgess after mother  wed  Fred Burgess.and story has it she was born out of wedlock possibly Strutt. Hence all the names.

Mary's mother was Alice Lawton and Alice Lawton's mother was Elizabeth Ann Lawton  but don't know who she married.   This is all I have except Elizabeth Ann's mother was Phoebe Lawton.

Truly grateful for any help.    Thanks

Looking on Freebmd I can't see a Mary Lawton, Strutt or Burgess birth registered in NRY in 1901.

There could be a number of reasons why:
Somehow her birth was not registered
Freebmd has not covered this area yet
She was not born in 1901
There were spelling variations of the surname
She was not born in NRY ....  :-\

Was Mary’s birth registered as Lawton or Burgess?

Any father named on her birth cert or marriage cert?

When did her mother marry Burgess?

When was she christened and was Fred shown as her father at that time?

Where does Strutt come from? If you are trying to determine if he was her biological father you will struggle unless he is named on either her birth or marriage cert

Have you looked at the 1911 entry?  How can you say her birth was registered in NRY given her birthplace?  Her birth was registered as Lawton in the Dec qtr 1901 in Hunslet which is WRY

I have asked the moderator to move this post to the WRY board

Silkstone is near Barnsley, which is West Yorkshire, not North.
Try looking in Barnsley for details.
