Looking for George Mellor born 1842 Manchester Lancashire California records

Thankyou so much Sandra I did check the data base at the cemetery but I have learnt from past experience not all relatives are necessarily listed & there are often more people in the graves.

Thankyou RJ I had saved that 1870 record but was unsure as the 1880 record in Alameda has Lizzie listed as 27 & the 1870 as 23.

I believe the Kane family Parents John & Mary & sisters Sarah,Kate,mollie & Minnie immigrated in 1855 to San Diego from Canada but that is the only record of John Kane or any of the family I could find.the 1910 Census show Elizabth Miller living with Daughter Mary & daughter Gertrude Waters in SAN Fran in district 38 saying she was from St Johns New Brunswick. My husband has ancestors buried in Holy Cross.  The staff at the cemetery are very helpful; I could call if you wish?

George was born c1842 in England.  His brother was a cook in Massachusetts.

In 1870, George was possibly a cook in a hotel in Sacramento.

living in Alameda, working in San Francisco
living in San Francisco and working there as well
living in Alameda and working in Alameda

Perhaps your George moved around to find work to support his family?

This is really stretching it, but I wonder if there could be a connection?  I have not researched any other records to prove or disprove anything...

The following caught my eye, since Lizzie's father, in 1870, was a carpenter and Lizzie was born in New Brunswick.  One family listed directly under Lizzie's family -

W. H. Kemp, age 35, Carpenter, born Canada (parents born England)
Wife, Jessie and children Sydney and Lyman(?)

William H Kemp, age 43, born Canada, Carpenter.  Soto & Wabash sts.  Naturalized 21 Oct 1868, Chicago, Illinois

  So, he was living back in Alameda by 1890.

According to a family tree, William H Kemp died c1894.

Was it just coincidence that William was in Los Angeles at the same time as Lizzie's husband?  Did the families know each other?  Did William and George go down together (after a quick search, I did not see William on earlier voter registers)?  Did they return to the Bay Area around the same time?  Did George ever return to the Bay Area?   

Update:  Mr. Kemp did pass away in 1894.  No additional facts about the Mellor's though:

You are amazing !
It appears Lizzie is buried at  Colma with her daughter Elizabeth Barnett Mellor who died in 1953. You definitely seem to have narrowed down death years for George between 1888-1900 which is wonderful.
My aunt who has done some family research mentions George did travel frequently for work as
a Cook so I think you’re on the right track 👍much appreciated.
It’d be wonderful if you could speak to the cemetery as I wonder if he is buried there but just not
Listed publicly.
