Nancy Osborne b. c 1910 British Columbia
« on: Sunday 26 August 18 14:48 BST (UK) »
Trying to find what happened to Nancy.

1911 Canadian census is practically unreadable and transcribed badly but the father James (Janos),b. England, mother Alice b. Scotland are living with 1 yr old Nancy and her siblings in Delta Riding  Surrey New Westminster BC.

1921 Nancy 11, is with James, 52, mother Alice 40 and siblings Gordon 15, Marjory 10, Winifred 7 and Jean 4 at 146 3rd st,E. N. Vancouver.

I have traced all the family except Nancy and Gordon who I believe went to the US, so would appreciate any help in finding what happened to them.

Thank you.

Gordon's date of birth (July 1907 according to 1911 census) might help when other details are found-

Nancy given as born Feb.1909 in same census-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

If you have traced family members do any of their obituaries mention a married name for Nancy or indicate a timeframe of death for Nancy or Gordon - eg. predeceased by ...

Mother Alice crossed the border in 1947 giving daughter Mrs John Connelly as a Canadian contact (Winnifred Margaret according to marriage database).  American contact was daughter Mrs. Otto Fewes (? ) Kellog, Idaho.  Is this Nancy or have I missed a daughter marrying in B.C.

Thank you JJen, aghdowey and cosmac for your interest.

I did have trouble reading the 1911 census for birth dates and yes that was the record I saw for border crossing for Gordon, unfortunately I haven't found any obits for any of them thus far. But here is what I have gathered on Gordon and Nancy's siblings.
Wilhelmina May b Osborne b 1899 BC married Harold Bernard Robinson in 1918 Vancouver, 1920 shows Sacramento and 1940 San Mateo California for them and as far as I know so far a son b. 1922.
Wilhelmina ( May ) Robinson died April 1988 San Mateo.

Emily Alice Osborne b. 1901 BC Married Daniel Beddard 1919 Vancouver, imm. 1919.  1920 shows them in Blaine Washington, nothing after that so far.
Gordon?
Nancy.?
Marjory Dorothy Osborne b. 1911 married Conrad Standal 1929 she died May 1983 N. Vancouver, Conrad died 1993 N.Vancouver.

Winifred Margaret b. 1914 married John Cyril Connelly 1937  POwell River, nothing more on them thus far.

Jean Maria Osborne b. 1917 married Leonard William Wheatley 1940 N. Vancouver Jean died Feb 1983 Merritt BC, Leonard died 1979 Lower Nicola.
The name Mrs Otto Fewes? means nothing but if a daughter I guess possibly Nancy unless Emily Alice remarried.

Thank you all again so much for your help and interest, I'll get back into it now.

Hi Sandra and thank you.
Yes that's them and interestingly right at this moment I'm looking at a 1940 record of Otto 'MEWES' 40, wife MARGARET ( Winifreds middle name) 38 b. Canada, if that's  same lass age is out BUT, the address is 1527 S.Side McKinley Ave Kellogg, Idaho, same street as on Alice's Border crossing May 1947 contact Mrs Otto Fewes ( Mewes ?) but then she goes under the name Connelly in Dec. 1947 aged 33 with her son John to Alaska. Anyway she gave the name of Canada contact as daughter Mrs J Connelly daughter. Mysterious!!!
The Otto Mewes, wife Margaret live with a daughter Donna 15 b. Idaho, step children Dorothy Ogle 15 and Bobby Ogle 13. So I don't think this can be them tho'.
Is it all a coincidence? I don't know of a 'Margaret' born c. 1902 to James and Alice Osborne.

Thanks again.
