Trinty Collage

Just a couple of quick questions.  According to a 1841 census there were a group of children at this Collage, could they of been orphaned?  And if so, would they take children from Dundee?

There was an almshouse adjacent to Trinity College Kirk.     The buildings were demolished in 1848.    Although the choir was reconstructed under the name Trinity Apse and did hold a Brass Rubbing Centre which no doubt allowed the production of Collages.

Looking at your list of surnames and the 1841 census for the parish of Trinity College, there was a William Lyall aged 10 listed at Carrubbers Close along with others of around this age.    Is this the person you were looking for?

The 1851 census has him along with a similar named individual from 1841, both blind, and basket makers.

Thanks for that.
So it won't be my man then as he turns up married by 1851.  A process of elimination.  He is extremely hard to trace in 1841 census.  Dundee records are not giving me much luck, including birth records, so thought I would look at other areas as well.
