This is James Joseph Kane,born 1926,Garston,Lancs,died 1993,Liverpool.Is there a likelihoodof any id from the uniform re service?

Although not the only ones the lanyard is of the type worn by artillerymen.  Is the top of the right sleeve visible in the original?

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

That would have shown his regiment, there are no other distinguishing items unfortunately.
