Hello,

It have all info on my g grandfather Thomas Baggot b 1850 from his marriage in 1873 address Shanbally, Williamstown, to death 1927 in Loughrea County Home.  Also all info on his children.  Have an extracted 1851 census address Shanbally, that names Thomas parents as Pat Bagot (Patrick?) & Biddy (Bridget) Kevany. Father deseased by 1873.

There are a few trees on Ancestry with a large number of siblings for him, no proof of connection as difficult pre 1864.  Did find a sister Bridget b 1844 who was present at the death of their mother in 1889 at  Shanbally.  She married as a spinster in 1890 from Shanbally, father Patt Bagot.

Also think there maybe a brother Patrick of Shanbally, but no idea of age, think older.

Are there any church records available I can access, to try link family and connect to possible siblings via parents.

Thanks if you can help, any info appreciated.

Cas

https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0551    'Castlerea (Diocese of Elphin)', which is a variant name for Kilkeevin.

Presumably this?

Just to note that another source corroborates the same parentage for Thomas, the RootsIreland website has a transcription of the 1873 church marriage record for Thomas Baggot and Mary Hurly which cites the groom's mother as 'Brigid Keaveny'.

Thanks Gaffy, info you found is correct. Mother Brigid also goes by Bridget and Biddy in other records, seems they are variants of the name Bridget.

I have found a marriage 27 Feb 1862 of Pat Baggot to Margaret Cunningham, Peggy on some their children's bapts.  Would there be any other additional info elsewhere such as witnesses or name of father? Info found below.

Civil Parish of Boyounagh, in the Barony of Ballymoe, in the County of Galway
Boyounagh | Microfilm 04211 / 01 NLI Catholic Parish registers. Archdiocese of Tuam | County of Galway.

I do think this Pat/Patrick bc 1837 is brother to my line (Thomas bc 1850, but could be c1847 as mentions 4yrs written in pencil? on 1851 extracted census).

Hoping witness or fathers name may help nail it. There was a Patrick Bagot who maybe one and the same as a witness at Thomas marriage in 1873. Also Shanbally seems to connect to this Patrick.

Think most of the Bagot and name varient are related around this area, but difficult finding the dots to connect to siblings named in some online trees.

There are a few marriages for possible siblings on FindMyPast under Catholic parish registers for Boyounagh, only have access to Ancestry and cannot find same there.

Any thoughts or info appreciated, think will have to shelve through lack of info/unable to find.

Bottom of left page, I read the witnesses as Micl (Michael) Kelly and Nora Cunif / Cunnif*

*There are other Cunifs / Cunnifs further up the same page for comparison.

I see it now you pointed it out. Thought it was another marriage. Not great at reading old registers and eyesight not as good anymore.

Thanks, no links to help there then, would this be the only written entry?

Think I am gonna have to give up on extending Thomas family, pre 1864 Irish records are so difficult to link...

Thanks again  :)
