Henry Smith of Fressingfield

Hi everyone,

I am trying to locate Henry Smith's (my 5th great grandfather) mother and father.

He was born about 1811 in Fressingfield, he married Mary Ann Smith who was born abt 1811 in  Creetingham.

They had a daughter named Mahala, born abt 1844 and she married John Owen Buck
does anyone know the origin of the name Mahala in the UK?

The only baptisms i can see in Fressingfield are a bit older
Henry smith s of Syer Smith and Elizabeth nee Mills 10.4.1808 and 6.9.1807
They married 19.1.1792
On the 1841 census at Fressinglfield they are 80 and 70 (Syer wheelwright),with a George born 1811.

Other children Harriet 27.1.1793,Maria 6.9.1794,Josiah 12.6.1796,John 4.3.1798,William 10.5.1800,George 7.5.1802,Eliza Ann 9.9.1804,Sidney Mar 1810,Alfred 5.9.1813

It looks as though Henry married Mary Ann Salter at Thrandeston 4.11.1834 but I can only find the transcript and it gives no more details.
