I wonder if anyone local to Rimpton, Somerset, could confirm if a Gravestone exists in the Churchyard/Burial Grounds for the Burial of George HUTCHINGS who died Rimpton 28 Aug 1891, please?  Thank you for reading.

Thank you Girl Guide.  I'm sure we're likely to be related - I must try to track his line - although my George HUTCHINGS and Family (Son of George HUTCHINGS d1891) had moved to Swindon by 1890.  Thanks for the nudge.

Just out of curiousity I traced the George who died in 1916.

Death registration is

Deaths Dec 1916   
Hutchings    George    81    Yeovil    5c   528

which makes him born about 1835.

There is a George Hutchings in the 1911 living at Rimpton Bath, Rimpton, Somerset with his wife Mary Jane and daughter Susan.

George was born in Sandford Orcas, Dorset.

I'm guessing that the George who died in 1891 is this one:-

giving a birth year of about 1807 - is this the George that you hope is buried at Rimpton?

If I have found the correct one he is living at Portway, Rimpton, Sherborne, Somerset with his wife Elizabeth and daughter also called Elizabeth.

Have you considered writing to Rimpton Church to ask them if they have any knowledge of a headstone for George?
