Michael was 29 when he married Mary Ann Hurren on 19 November 1855 at Hobart;
His rank was given as stonemason and he was a 'free' man;
he died at Hobart General hospital on 7 August 1877 and buried in the pauper section of the Cornelian Bay cemetery.; Mary Ann died 14 October 1878 and also buried at the same cemetery;
son Michael was DoB 5 July 1858, died 24 March 1927.
The dates for the sailings of the Rodney, Rodney 2 and London 2 and the sentences of the similarly named persons on those vessels conflict with the notation 'free' when the approval for Mary Ann to marry was issued.
I am also trying find a stonemasons guild or similar of which he may have been a member .

Well, Leecon

The dates you give for his death line up with the link to document provided by Cando. So, it’s him, or you have the incorrect man/death.

I’m sure there will be those familiar with convict matters that will be able to assist.

The Michael CONNOR on the Rodney (2) was granted a conditional pardon in July 1854 and he is the one who died in 1877.  He was a free man in 1855.

The notion of Michael being a convict, and arriving in 1851, is confusing.
The 1843 Census {Cen/1/1/59}at pages 153 & 154 has him listed as a free man, in the age group 21 - 45 years , occupation recorded in the category "mechanic and artificer", a tenant living alone in Campbell St Hobart. The notation "FS" on the hospital record supports the census data.

FS on a convict's 'history' usually means 'Free by Servitude' - that is, he served his time and is now 'free' to walk among the general population.

This census data refers to a different Michael Connor to the Rodney 2 convict
