Tracing Italian ancestors
« on: Saturday 01 September 18 18:21 BST (UK) »
Hi there , after a long absence from the group I'm back 😁
While I'm sort of up to speed tracing UK ancestors I'm now on the hunt for the Italians. I've got a free trial of My heritage but it does seem a bit lacking in some areas like marriages. I'm sure  that someone here must have a vast experience of tracing foreign ancestors and wondered if anyone can advise of places to look on line in the quest to find out more about them  ?
Or how is the best way to go about searching
Many thanks for reading this and I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Little Blue 😁😁 ::)
every little helps

Hi little blue
Just seen your posting.  Don't know how you've got on, but I could help on the Italian side.
I have a posting   "Italian Research" on this forum.  Drop me a line on it and let me know what you are looking for.
There is not a lot of Italian records online.
I live in Italy and can contact Archive Records, Diocesan Records and the local Town Hall etc.
Sometimes successful and sometimes not.  Costs nothing to ask.

Cheers Steve for replying to my post and your kind offer , I must admit I have done no more research since I created my post but I'm now hoping that as the nights are drawing in I'm hoping to get stuck in to it
I've had a look at the surnames in your list Garstonite but as of yet I have no matches to the ones you have put up.

every little helps
