Site not secure --?
« on: Saturday 01 September 18 23:06 BST (UK) »
I have just logged as normal and I notice that in the search bar it says that the site is not secure.
The first time I noticed this.

You probably haven't read all/any of the other posts explaining it so!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Andrew

I've had this message for quite a long time (using Firefox on various versions of Windows).  As far as I know, no Rootschatter has had security issues when logging in after seeing the warning.

Thanks Philip,

Despite logging in every day I failed to notice any mention.

Hi Andrew

The warning is covered by the browser that you are using (Google Chrome or Firefox).

Have a look at this topic
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=766928.0

Nothing has changed with RootsChat. It's just that web browsers are trying to protect people who are logging into website that don't use encrypted "SSL" pages (the padlock thing in the address bar).

It's important to make sure that a financial site, or shopping site use secure logins, but not for forums.

Regards

Sarah
