Thanks for the links to the Knott family, River Tyne Lass.
I thought of going along to the bell ringing to see if any were there, but the old bones wouldn't take me.
I'm going to follow it up, other family members will be interested.
And my Dad certainly would be, if he was still alive.
Knott - Northumberland; Yorkshire (?Bridlington.)
Fenwick, Johnston - Northumberland.
Dixon; Hutchinson - York.
Shaw - ? Glasgow

I went to the Christ Church Open Day a little while back. 

They have a book of commemoration for those who died in the Great War.  George is in this.  A newspaper clipping.  It is also recorded that his ship was torpedoed 50 miles from starting point and that he and four of his crew were drowned.

Christ Church will be open again to look around during the free Heritage Open Days which will be taking place soon.  Well worth a visit if you can make it TriciaK.  So many interesting and historic things on display. :)

I'm trying to get my cousin in Canada interested as well. She's the one who has done most of our family research and has some information from records.
