The CWGC site usually mentions surviving spouses as next-of-kin.

All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

There is a birth of a Mona Stansfield -

q1 1916 Rochdale
Vol 8c Page 23
Mother's maiden name - Turner

There are other Stansfield/ Turner births but the above is the only one registered in Rochdale.

Unfortunately Mona Stansfield died in the 4th quarter 1916

To find out if there were children born to the couple use Freebmd https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

You need to search 'births' for surname Stansfield - mothers maiden surname Turner

You can also search that site for any possible remarriages

There are two possible remarriages for May Stansfield in Rochdale.

Fred Mills in Q4/1919 or Arthur Kershaw Q4/1926

Ironically both had names children mother Turner in the county but not in Rochdale.

You would need the marriage cert to be sure.

Gracie Fields’ proper name was Stansfield, she was born in Rochdale.

As a child we had a family friend who was very kind to my sister and myself.
He never married and my Mum told us he and his father were left alone when the mother left home.
He was a very kind man who never had his own home but lodged with other people.
Just in case he might have been any connection to you I will send. PM with further details. He died in the late sixties or early seventies.
Viktoria.
