Sarah Hunt born about 1845 England
« on: Monday 03 September 18 19:20 BST (UK) »
My first cousin Sarah was daughter of

John Hunt 1791–1879 Died in Ontario Canada

Mary Pope 1809–Death unknown

I have seen trees that have Sarah married to a David Corsaut in St. Clair County, Michigan  15 Apr 1867. I have been unable to find a marriage record.  Michigan does fit the family as siblings went to Michigan to work.

The trees have her passing 19 Feb 1926 in Sac City Iowa and burial at Sac City Oakland Cemetery Lot 138.  Sadly there is no marker photograph online.

I have reached out to the tree owners but no response.

1880 US census, showing son , William, born 1868 Michigan , and rest of family, all transcribed as Casort :

Later censuses give varying dates for their arrival in US , but 1867/8  seems accurate. ( No marriage record found ).

Transcription for 1870 wasn't any better.

I found the St Clair County, Michigan marriage register on FamilySearch, and it's very annoying!.

For 15 April 1867 there are 15 marriages recorded - all of which took place several months prior to the recording.  For example Hugh Caughell(?) to Emily Cox - recorded on 15 Apr 1867, married on 17th Dec 1866 in Port Huron.  >:( >:(

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939V-KXSX-GD?i=60&cc=1810350

No marriage showed up for a search for Sarah Hunt marrying in Michigan 1860-1880!

I'm stumped.

Thanks for all the great added info.

I have just seen a hint that the marriage was in Iowa but that would not fit a child born in Michigan.  Just found some records indicating several children all born Michigan.  Perhaps there is a child married in Iowa with same given name.

Now that we have the spouse name, and know that it gets transcribed poorly,  perhaps a search in Canada will find them.
