Warndon Mapping cira 1900
« on: Monday 03 September 18 21:11 BST (UK) »
Does anybody know where i can find maps of Warndon circa 1900? I have a snippet of one that my dad has had for years but I'm after a wider coverage.

Hi,

I know use the National Library of Scotland maps.  This link gives a 1883-1913 map with  Geo-Referenced link to a modern street map side by side with the older map.

https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=52.2042&lon=-2.1810&layers=6&b=1

Have fun

Its worth looking at the HIVE web site as that's where the parish registers for Worcestershire are held & the archaeology dept have a lot of old maps but I don't know if they are on line

All the very best

Phil

Hive web site is www.thehiveworcester.org

You need to play about with this web site to find what you want as I don't find it easy to use
Worcestershire - Heeks, Maiden, Pinchin, Hartland, Tredwell, Holliday, Morton, Collins, Aldington, Saunders
Oxfordshire - Gomm, Hamblet, Austin, Winter,
Herefordshire - Lowe
Radnor - Lowe, Powell
Gloucestershire - Holliday, Pinchin

Hi Again

Ive just been playing around on the computer & find if you go to old-maps.co.uk & just type Warnden in the search box you will get a map of Warndon - if you are unable to view it just reduce the magnification till it comes into view.  I hope this is of some help
