Thank you MartynS, he is a cute little thing and all the better for your tender care.

Ruskie, thank you, 1910 interesting, I was thinking the toy under his arm could be from a Beatrix Potter story!?

I couldn't work out what the toys were. Do you think one is a Peter Rabbit?

If so, that might fit well enough with a 1910 date.

I must add that 1910 is purely a guess on my part. I'm sure one of the experts will give you a more accurate estimate.  :)

Agree early years of 20th century but when I first saw the toy I thought it was one of those wobbly men with a weighted semi-circular base. Could well be Peter Rabbit, though. Can't make out what he has in his hand.

I think the thing in his hands is a hen on stand, the other might be one of those toys that stand back up when you push them over.
A round bottom with a weight in it.
I can see a nose, and it seems to be wearing a jacket, waistcoat and something white around it's neck.

Ah I see AJ is thinking along the same lines re wobbly men.

Looking through other photos I found this little man, Robert.
Could it be the same boy.
Robert was born 1889.
