Turkish handwriting on German card?
« on: Wednesday 05 September 18 04:28 BST (UK) »
You guys were so helpful on the German card I posted, I thought I'd give this one a go. It came with the German one, but this one appears to be written in Turkish?

Best I can gather is maybe something about the writer hopes the recipient is safe and sound?

Thanks for any help!!!!

Hi Caver,

I don't speak Turkish, but I've just come back from picking up our new (second-hand) car, which I bought from a second-hand car dealer who is Turkish.  :D

I printed out your postcard photo and took the copy along with me.

Mehmet said it's rather strange. The language is very old-fashioned and very correct. It is - in the most courteous and correct of tones - simply a greeting to the Dr. and his spouse. It simply expresses respect and good wishes.

Maybe it was some kind of secret code.  ;D

Probably doesn't help you a lot, but I gave it a go.

Best regards,
Karen

Wow, thanks for taking the time to put some context to this card. Thanks again, and good luck with the car!
