Victoria: Alfred CORBETT, born 1828, Worcestershire
« on: Wednesday 05 September 18 14:19 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Alfred CORBETT disembarked from the Star of the East at Melbourne on 19/09/1853, the ship having embarked from Liverpool.

Can anyone confirm that he embarked with the ship from Liverpool or, indeed, joined the ship at a later stage of the voyage........possibly Fremantle?

Thank you.

There is no indication that the ship "Star of the East" on the voyage you speak of, came to Melbourne via Fremantle or Adelaide.

These articles strongly suggest she made a fast trip from Liverpool to Melbourne

And this.

Other information is available about a man of the name in Victoria and he may well be your chap.

Thank You Sue,

I managed to find Fremantle passenger listings and apparently the Star of the East did not stop there ..........direct from Liverpool to Melbourne.

For now,
