Peter George's baptism place - Minera, Denbighshire, Wales but I can't read the place his Dad is from.

Sorry, best I can come up with...

Could it be Ely which is in Cardiff & 2nd part possibly a district within Ely?

I read it as Eli, and that he was a miner.

JJ, I should have said looks like a variant of Ely i.e. Eli (written how it sounded) as often happened but I'm unsure although best I can see?

Good observation on occ. as it does look like Miner!

Jamjar,
I think you're right. I didn't notice the other entries also had occupations.
I'll look for Ely or Eli now.

Does anyone know of a website that has the names of small places that no longer exist. I'm always looking up places and not finding them.

'Ely' (Wales) is the name used in this day but may have been 'Eli' in earlier days or just written how it sounded?

Just type Ely, Wales in google
