John Fisher, County Carvan - Handwriting unclear
« on: Friday 07 September 18 03:37 BST (UK) »
Our ancestor John Fisher was born around 1839 County Carvan Ireland and joined 95th Regiment of Foot at 25. I have attached a record of his birth found in his Chelsea Hospital Pensioner Records, however I am unable to read which Parish and town he is from. I am hoping someone is able to assist.

To me the town and parish look like Charcock but I can't see a town with that name in County Cavan :-\   I wonder if it might be Shercock mispelt ?? https://www.ancestryireland.com/civil-parish-maps-for-ulster/civil-parishes-of-county-cavan/

logainm.ie confirms that Charcock was indeed a previous spelling of Shercock.
