Occupation on Death Cert

I was hoping somebody could make out the occupation on this death record from 1953. It's for my 3xgreat grandfather.

I know he had been a groom, van man/driver and hackney driver but it can't quite make out this occupation. I'm sure it'll be obvious to some but I'm drawing a blank today.

It says ‘Pensioner’.

Just what I was thinking Jamjar.  Particularly as he was 80 when he died.  Not very well written though.

It’s backhand, most likely written by a left handed person.
