Mary Cook McKenzie & Tina Mustard McKenzie
« on: Friday 07 September 18 16:27 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I am looking for help finding records of two my great aunts, the above Mary & Tina. They emigrated to Canada in April of 1927 with their family from Campbeltown, in Argyllshire, Scotland.

Mary was born 10th April, 1923. And died some time around 2003, with the married name of either Lincoln or Howden.

Tina was born 13th October 1918, and died around 2002, she never married.

There was also another sister called Jeanie McKenzie, 4th July 1911 and she died in May of 2000 in Edmonton, with the married name of Fox.

I believe the McKenzie's family settled either in British Columbia, Kamloops specifically or Niagara.

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks guys  :)

Thank you very much for that

Do you know of a similar way I might be able to find information on Tina Mustard McKenzie?

Hi,

You're welcome. :)

You may wish to email the Prince George library for an obituary for Mary, it may provide more
information about her siblings, namely Tina. She is elusive.

It looks like your McKenzie family spent some time in Wembley, Peace River, Alberta. Tina
appears on a Voters List in 1940 with sister Jean, brothers Peter and Allan.

May I ask how you came by the voters list?

Of the 13 who emigrated, including the parents, these are the ones who stayed -

Peter McKenzie 1906 - ?
Jeanie McKenzie 1911 - 2000 (Speculated) (Married name, Fox)
Allan McKenzie 1913 - 70's?? (Believed to have died in a Hotel Fire in Sex Smith, Alberta)
Tina Mustard/e McKenzie 1918 - ?
Isabella Cook McKenzie 1920 - 2015 (Married name, Hopkins)
Mary Cook McKenzie 1923 - 2003 (Howden) I believe Mary was first married to a Ted Lincoln, who was in the armed forces but left Mary and their daughter due to his mother's interference that the daughter should be born in America, but Mary refused. So I don't know if Ted & Mary married in the US or Canada???

The rest came back to the UK.

I would be very interested to be able to locate any records for Peter, and Allan as they are (alongside Tina and Mary) the most elusive of my great uncles.

Can you confirm was it Peter & Allan who came back to the UK or who?

What were their parents names including mothers' maiden name please?

Hi Rosinish,

Peter & Allan remained in Canada with their sisters - Jeanie, Tina, Isabella & Mary.

John, William, Thomas, James, & Margaret remained in the UK.

Their parents were John McKenzie & Mary Cook, both from Campbeltown in Argyllshire, Scotland. They arrived in Halifax Nova Scotia on April 3rd, 1927.

There is an obituary available for Jean Fox from this site.  You do have to pay for it.
