Lots of images gray18.

Is there anything specific you would like help with on the images?

I've only clicked on one of them so far, but the image is so small I could not read anything, nor could I zoom in. I am on an ipad though, so it might be different for those on a desktop computer. You might want to see if others can see the images before posting more, in case you need to re-post them.

It would help with each image to explain what, if anything, you need help with? For example, some people ask for a full "translation" of a particular page and explanation of abbreviations etc. Others are just interested in finding out one or two specific things on a service record, and yet others just want a rough outline of service.

There is rather a lot to go through so knowing exactly what you want from each page would be helpful. :)

Added: What is the relevance of the bus?  :-\

;D That's good to know. I thought I had missed something obvious.  :)

There are guidelines for posting photographs somewhere on this site. I will try to find it for you.

gray18 - You will have noticed that many of the dates on the forms overlap which has a logic to it in that each form has a different purpose.  Turning the forms into a potted chronological history is a matter of using all the forms together to put together a time line and then fitting the events from the forms into that time line.  I and others are happy to do this if you can post readable forms!

For example - the first two forms you posted show he joined on 15 May 1941 and was discharged in September 1946.  He served in UK from May 41 to Nov 41 then it says "See Maritime record" which hopefully is one of the other forms.  He served in the Maritime Royal Artillery from Nov 41 to 26 Apr 45 and then in the Middle East from Apr 45 to Sep 46.  His six medals are recorded, you can find information about each on
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_campaign_medals#World_War_II - click on the relevant ones.

Hopefully you can get the others forms posted in a readable form (don't need card 01 again), I'll be glad to continue later.
